Beautiful Day in Ireland

Today we docked in Cobh, Ireland -- the last port the Titanic left from before it sunk.  We started the day by taking the train from the port into Cork which was a 25 minute ride.  Beautiful sunny weather and about 63 degrees.  We walked from the train station to the English Market and found everything from fresh meats to vegetables to breads and cheese displayed in most attractive cases.   We even discovered "buttered eggs" -- raw eggs coated in butter to protect them...

......and a local delicacy, tripe

We took the train back to Cobh, had lunch on the ship, then changed shoes and walked around the quaint little seaside town.

Doesn't Al look happy?  He really was but just tired!

In the foreground of the picture below, you can see the pier the Titanic left from and in the background is our home for 12 days -- the Crown Princess.

Al climbed up onto the ship deck above the bridge and took pictures of Cobh from there.

Flowers were everywhere, adding to the charm of Cobh.

Back on board ship, we were entertained by a local award winning musician and Irish dancers.  Gave us a real feel for the culture.  All in all, a wonderful day in port!  Bye bye Cobh....Dublin tomorrow.
